Find the Perfect Option for Every Room in Your Home

A common misconception that clients have about motorized shading is that standard roller shades are their only option. Motorized doesn’t have to mean generic or one-size-fits-all. Our partners at Lutron offer a wide range of models, fabrics, and mounting options to match your unique needs. Because what works in one room may not work in another, and your home deserves a solution designed for your unique lifestyle and interior decor. From solar shades in the office to blackout shades in the bedroom, we outline some of our top recommendations.

Living Room

In a luxury living room you want daylight and views during the day plus privacy and a darker mood at night. That’s why we recommend a dual roller shade installation with a sheer or solar screen fabric and a blackout fabric.

During the day the sheer layer filters harsh sun and reduces glare on screens while maintaining your view. At night the blackout layer drops for privacy and a cozier atmosphere. It also supports movie time in the family when ambient lighting is not wanted.

Kitchen

Kitchen windows need light control but they also face heat, humidity, and airborne grease. A roller shade with a wipeable performance fabric is the most practical option because it keeps the design clean and it stands up to daily use.

A vinyl coated or fiberglass based solar fabric works well in this room. It diffuses sunlight so the space stays bright without harsh glare on counters and glossy surfaces. It also blocks UV that can fade cabinetry finishes over time.

Bedrooms

Bedrooms benefit from complete light control and strong privacy. Blackout honeycomb shades are an excellent fit because the cellular structure reduces edge gaps and the fabric blocks light and heat gain. You won’t be woken by morning light or rising temperatures.

Honeycomb shades also support comfort through insulation. The air pockets in the cells create a buffer at the window. That helps reduce drafts in winter and heat transfer in summer.

For aesthetics you can choose a richer interior color that matches bedding and wall tones.

Bathrooms

Bathroom shading has one non-negotiable goal. Privacy. You also want natural light to get ready in the morning. A light filtering privacy fabric in a roller shade or honeycomb shade hits on both notes.

Choose an opaque material that passes light but blocks visibility. This avoids silhouettes at night when bathroom lights are on. Light colors work best here because they brighten the room and make tile and stone stand out.

Home Office

A home office needs daylight to boost productivity, but not enough to create glare on the screen. A solar screen roller shade reduces glare and UV while still giving you access to sunlight.

A 3% to 5% openness screen fabric is a strong choice for productivity. It cuts the harshest light so your monitor stays readable. It also reduces eye strain during long workdays. A medium to darker fabric may be needed if the window faces strong sun.

Are you ready to upgrade to more intuitive, beautiful window treatments? While these recommendations work great in most homes, we’d love to talk to you to offer a more tailored solution for your space. To get started, call us or fill out our contact form.
